Partnering with the University of London
Atlas Workplace Services first won a contract with the University of London in 2020 to supply hard FM services at academic and residential buildings across its estate, which currently includes 27 buildings and ancillary facilities. The contract began as the Covid-19 pandemic reached Britain, but our client was exemplary in its partnership approach and the contract has been successful since the very first day.
Atlas delivers planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and project and lifecycle engineering infrastructure projects. We also provide helpdesk services and specialist supply chain monitoring for a range of buildings, plant, equipment and systems.
As part of the agreement, Atlas is helping the university to reduce carbon emissions from its estate. This includes monitoring and reviewing current energy used by building plant and assets, recommending ways to better manage that energy usage, and using sophisticated methodologies to target and significantly reduce carbon emissions in line with ESOS reporting processes.
When the contract was first awarded, Andrew Lunt, Managing Director, said: “Winning this contract shows our FM and engineering expertise as well as our ability to offer a solution that reflects the ambitious objectives of the University of London. We are working hard to build a partnership ethos based on first-class customer service and great workplace experiences for employees, students and visitors alike.”
Glenn Marree, Head of Estates Operations at the University of London, added: “We look forward to collaborating on optimising working environments for our students, staff and partners, who are working at the very cutting edge of higher education within the UK and internationally.”
