Rewilding Atlas: Celebrating Earth Day

Today, in celebration of Earth Day, Atlas is announcing a change in how we manage and think about our green spaces, beginning with the garden at our Datchet head office.

In response to the accelerating decline of natural ecosystems and pollinator populations in the UK, we believe it is our collective responsibility to help restore and enhance biodiversity. As a nationwide brand employing over 15,000 people, we recognise our ability to influence change, whether through major initiatives or small collective actions.

We will actively support this transition by planting native wildflowers, pollinator-friendly species, and habitat-supporting plants to help establish a healthier ecosystem. In addition, we will introduce natural features, such as habitat structures and wildlife-friendly zones, to encourage insects, birds, and other wildlife to thrive.

By transforming a traditionally managed garden into one that better supports biodiversity and local ecosystems, we hope to build resilience and diversity over time, allowing natural processes to guide what happens here.

We ask our colleagues and visitors to embrace what may at first appear to be a “less managed” space, as we intentionally shift toward restoring ecological balance.
